Each tab will include the following information regarding performance:
- Percent of students scoring at a level 4+ (on track for the next grade level/college- and career-ready)
- Percent of students scoring at a level 3+
- Percent of students scoring at each level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4, and level 5
- Total number of valid test takers
• A value of 'NA' means that there were no valid test takers for the given selection. A value of 'n&lt;25' means that the number of valid test takers did not meet the minimum reporting threshold of 25.
• On the PARCC assessment, it is permissible for middle school students to take high school course-based mathematics assessment in lieu of their grade level assessment. For example, a 7th grade student could take the Algebra I or the Geometry math assessment instead of the 7th grade math assessment. This report allows users to view the results of middle school students overall and by the assessment the students took. Here are some examples of ways the data can be filtered to view results of a specific group of students on a specific assessment.
• To view the results of all students enrolled in 7th grade, filter the "Grade of Enrollment" field to 'Grade 7' and the "Tested Grade/Subject" field to 'All'.
• To view the results of students enrolled in 7th grade on the Geometry assessment, filter the "Grade of Enrollment" field to 'Grade 7' and the "Tested Grade/Subject" field to 'Geometry'.
• To view the results of students enrolled in 7th grade on the 7th grade math assessment,filter the "Grade of Enrollment" field to 'Grade 7' and the "Tested Grade/Subject" field to Grade 7'.
The following data fields, while included in the template, are not applicable/relevant for the MSAA assessment:
• The 'Percent Level 5' field
• The 'Percent Meeting or Exceeding Expectations' and 'Percent Level 3+' fields represent the same population of students (those students whose performance levels were either a 3 or a 4 on the MSAA); it is only for the PARCC assessment that these fields represent two different populations of students.
Please note that due to the 'Full Academic Year' criteria, in the Achievement aggregations, the values in the school and LEA aggregations may not align. Due to the full academic year criteria, only students who were enrolled for the full academic year at the 'School' level are included in the School Level achievement aggregations whereas the LEA level aggregations include students who were enrolled for the full academic year at the 'School' and 'LEA' levels. Therefore, even if an LEA has just one school, the LEA and school level results may be different. Similarly, for LEAs with multiple schools, combining the school level values may not accurately align to the values in the LEA level aggregations.
Performance Reporting Rules:
• Students must receive a valid score on a required assessment. For full details on the policy for participation in the required statewide assessments, refer to the "Districtwide Assessments Participation Policy for 2016-17.
• Students must be identified as a participant for the purposes of calculating the statewide assessment participation rate.
• Students must be enrolled for the Full Academic Year (FAY) to be counted for performance calculations.
(1) Students will be deemed enrolled for the FAY at their school if they are enrolled in the same school for 85% of the school days between the official Enrollment Audit count day (October 5, 2016) and the first day of the State assessment window for 2016-17 for each of the required assessments.
(2) Students will be deemed enrolled for the FAY at their LEA if they are enrolled in the same LEA for 85% of the school days between the official Enrollment Audit count day (October 5, 2016) and the first day of the State assessment window for 2016-17 for each of the required assessments.
(3) FAY applies to MSAA and PARCC. The assessment windows are as follows:
-MSAA: March 27 – May 12, 2017
-PARCC: April 10 – June 5, 2017
• Students who take optional high school assessments are not included in performance reporting. (The required high school assessments are Geometry or Integrated Math II or English II. For students who take Geometry or Integrated Math II prior to high school, the required high school mathematics assessment is Algebra II or Integrated Math III. Other assessments that a student may take in high school – Algebra I, Integrated Math I, Integrated Math III, English I, or English III are optional and not included in performance reporting.)
• Students in grades 7 and 8 who take high school course-based mathematics assessments are counted for performance reporting, as the high school course-based assessment takes the place of the required grade-level assessment. • Students who earned summative scores but who took "off-grade" tests will be excluded from performance reporting (e.g., students enrolled in grade 4 but took the Grade 3 mathematics test would be excluded from reporting).
Other:
• Recently arrived LEP/EL students first enrolled in U.S. schools within 12 months from the first day of the previous year’s test window are not included in local 2016-17 assessment performance results reporting.
• For the LEP/EL and special education subgroups, students who exited LEP/EL or special education status within the past two years are included in performance reporting for that subgroup.
• The minimum number of students in a school and/or subgroup for aggregating performance is 25.</suppInfo>
